GESCI brought together 80 secondary school head teachers from Nyamira, Kiambu, Taita Taveta and Narok counties for a three day specializes programme in establishing Digital Schools of Distinction .The training took place on 4-6^th of December at the Kenya School of Government, Nairobi. The key focus of the training was to introduce the principals to the resources, which would assist them to carry out the steps to turn their schools into Digital schools of Distinction over the next 4 years.  Two key resources, which were distributed, were (1) Comprehensive guidelines on integrating ICTand (2) an accompanying Roadmap for whole-school ICT integration. Important themes for school-based ICT strategy development were discussed. These included: leadership & Planning, ICT in the Curriculum, Teacher ICT Professional Development and ICT Equipment.      Speaking at the event, GESCI CEO, Jerome Morrissey, thanked the principals for their wholehearted support of this initiative and urged the heads to encourage and assist their teachers as they partake in training for effective ICT integration in their daily teaching. For their part, Head teachers expressed praise and enthusiasm for the initiative and committed to ensuring their schools achieve the Digital Schools of Distinction status by 2020.   This training session was part of the wider implementation of the programme in Kenya.
