The African Union and GESCI can now make public the 7 African countries that will be participating in the next round of the African Leadership in ICT course. ALICT launched in January in Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and Mauritius. A total of 109 participants from ministries of education, higher education, science and technology, planning, communications and more are engaged in an intensive leadership building programme on a bespoke learning management system until this August. Participants are being challenged to think different about leadership, communication, planning and strategising. Participants are grappling with trends and forecasting for technology, mobility and education, and they're building a knowledge society road-map with Californian and African futurists to guide the implementation of programmes on completion of the course. GESCI will be inviting participants from the following 12 countries to apply for a place on the course from April:Botswana, Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, and Uganda.
