Training for Heads of Departments in Secondary Schools in Kenya

In a bid to build sustainability of the African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) Programme in Kenya, GESCI trained over 300 Heads of Departments from 80 secondary schools drawn from 4 counties in Kenya
GESCI partnered with the Ministry of Education to have Heads of Departments trained on managing digitally developed learning resources. The training was aimed at ensuring they are conversant with the formats, content and materials developed by teachers trained over the past three years.Given that they lead departments i.e Science, Humanities, Technical,Applied, etc, they would play a key role in overseeing the quality assurance of the digital content developed. In the third cycle of training, teachers created a Digital Library which will be managed by the HODs.In Doing so, the ADSI culture is owned by the whole department so new teachers will join and work the same way.
