GESCI Hands Over Digital Equipment to 40 Secondary Schools in the United Republic of Tanzania

On January 15, 2018, GESCI , in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania, handed over digital equipment(laptops and digital projectors) to 40 secondary schools in the Pwani and Morogoro regions of Tanzania.
On January 15, 2018, GESCI , in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania, handed over digital equipment(laptops and digital projectors) to 40 secondary schools in the Pwani and Morogoro regions of Tanzania. This equipment is part of the implementation of the African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) programme being implemented over 4 years with the objective of ensuring effective technology-driven teaching and enabling better learning, particularly in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, English and Mathematics). Speaking during the handover, the Regional Education Officer Pwani Region Mr A. Maulid asked the teachers to ensure that they incorporate ICTs in their teaching by using the equipment provided. Head teachers, receiving the equipment, were very enthusiastic about the initiative and promised to embrace the technology to support better teaching and learning as the ICT training for their teachers is set to commence in a week’s time.
