Kenya ADSI Team Conducts Schools Visits to Support Code Clubs

The African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) programme team kicked off school visits in the 80 secondary schools drawn from Nyamira, Taita Taveta, Kiambu and Narok counties in Kenya. This year, GESCI has partnered with iEARN Kenya to facilitate training of teachers and students on coding. As a result, ADSI Code clubs have been created in the schools. The schools visits are conducted to monitor the progress of the clubs' activities s well facilitate participation in a webinar series bringing together students from all the 4 counties at the same time. As students go through the training, they will create projects/prototypes that will be showcased at the Young Scientists Kenya Science Exhibition. This activity is part of the wider implementation of ADSI in Kenya, Tanzania and Cote d'Ivoire. This is aimed at enhancing 21st century skills through coding.
