As Minister for
Communications with responsibility for knowledge society in Ireland, I
am happy to endorse GESCI. I am pleased that Ireland, through the
support of IrishAid, supports GESCI in its endeavours to promote
knowledge society development in developing countries. As Minister with
responsibility for developing eInclusion in Ireland, I am keenly aware
of the digital divide and the need to actively address the problem of
e-exclusion particularly among harder to reach groups in danger of being
left behind. I wish GESCI continued success in their endeavours to
address the digital divide in developing countries.
Pat Rabbitte
Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources, Ireland
Congratulations to everyone who has been part of GESCI since the idea emerged so many years ago during the UN ICT Task Force. Being recognised as an international organisation is an enormous achievement. Having been a small part of this process means that I am aware of how hard the GESCI team and members of the board have worked to get to this point. Wishing you all the best going forward.
Anriette Esterhuysen

I am delighted that Jerome Morrissey is to be the new CEO of GESCI. He has contributed very significantly to Irish education, particularly in the areas of media arts and in furthering ICT integration in our schools - always bringing enthusiasm, creativity and a great sense of imagination to his work. I wish him every success in his new role.
